My superpower is to help people communicate and improve their quality of life, what’s yours?

I’m a specialist speech and language therapist who loves her job with a passion, My job challenges me everyday to use my intellect, the talents of my mind in combination with humanity (helping others and providing care) allowing me to do meaningful work that feeds my soul.

I enjoy building new relationships with my clients and their families who I’ve never met. The sessions may come to an end, but they leave me with memories that stay with me forever.

For me, speech therapy isn’t about words. It’s about the actions, the choices and the independence I pass on to my clients every single day. It makes me so humble.

Some people were born to be lawyers, politicians and pop stars. I was born to be a speech therapist and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I enjoy changing the world one word at a time.

I am so proud of what I do every day. Speech therapists work hard fighting for their clients so they can have access to their basic human rights of communication and eating. When working for my own practice I find myself in people’s lives and homes, feeling grateful and privileged that people allow me to be part of their journey. Whether it is to be there for the end, ensuring they can still eat their fish and chips or samosas like always or helping them to communicate to get their affairs in order or a path to a new beginning, helping people to have a meaningful life after a stroke or brain injury, showing people how valuable they are to this world!

I’m a wanderlust wife, a gratitude logger, and empiricist who loves to try out new things in life whether it’s a new place, culture, lifestyle, activity or food. You can say I have a fear of missing out. I like to live, love and laugh in life.

My new superpower is motherhood. I’m a first time mum to my gorgeous son, and this too during lockdown. Being a mum it’s easy to lose your sparkle in your stretch marks. I absolutely love my job as a speech therapist and now a mum. But how do I have it all?! Being part of the modern mummy community. I’m bridging the gap between work and life balance.

After working for the NHS for 10 years, I’ve decided to work for my on private practice in Loughton, Essex. Speech Therapy Interactive allows me flexibility and quality time with my son (my Drive and my Why), creativity in my profession and a choice of providing quality client centred therapy.

I had the pleasure of guesting on this podcast about my speech therapy journey…

“Tina Kad shares her passion and enthusiasm for helping adults that require assistance with communication following neurological incidences such as stroke. Her story and passion is warming and invigorating. Tina talks about projects she has been involved in during the lockdown and how she intends to use the learning that have come out of social distancing to drive her own business forward to meet the needs and demand of her patients.
