“What can I say about this lovely young lady? Apart from being a Speech and Language Therapist she is an amazing lady who has compassion and plenty of patience by the bucket loads. My personal experience was when she was assisting my 90-year-old mother after she had suffered from a major stroke and was being treated at the King George Hospital in Goodmayes.

Tina brings herself down to the patient’s level and treats them like they are one of her own relatives. Personally, my mother responded to Tina extremely well and her face would light up every time she was spending time with her. Tina is very professional in her role and has all the time in the world to make sure her patients have a voice and they are heard.

When my mother celebrated her 89th Birthday whilst in a Care Home Tina took the time to join in the family celebrations and this brought tears of happiness to my mother. Tina did not have to do this but for me ,she helped me so much with the transition from Hospital to the Care Home as I found it extremely hard to explain to mum, she was no longer able to return to her home . At this meeting it became very emotional for mum . myself and my sister and also Tina found herself trying hard to hold back the tears.

There is so much more that  I can say to praise this extremely beautiful and professional young lady…”

I first met Tina through her work as a speech therapist.  My husband became unwell with COVID-19 back in March 2020.  He was intubated, had a tracheotomy and was left unable to speak.  He was diagnosed with COVID-19-encephalitis, and cognitive issues further restricted his ability to speak.

After our first meeting, it was clear that Tina would be able to help.  She engaged with my husband immediately and her knowledge and professionalism along with her warm friendly personality and kind and caring nature really encouraged him to start making sound and forming words.   She introduced breathing, neck and voice exercises and sent us print outs so we could work with him on a daily basis.  She also assessed his swallow and changed his thickener to something more palatable resulting in him drinking more.

It is obvious that Tina cares about the people she treats.  She is passionate and dedicated about her work and always goes the extra mile giving 110% to each session.   More importantly, she  treats my husband as a person rather than a patient and has given him the confidence and motivation to really try.  As a consequence, there has been a distinct
improvement.

As a family, we are so grateful to be working with Tina and, with her continued care and expertise, I am confident that my husband will be talking once again’.

‘I met Tina in the summer of 2020 to provide speech therapy for my mum Beryl, who, 2 yrs. post a stroke was still having difficulties with her speech.  Tina immediately made mom feel at ease and mom was quite keen to begin the sessions.

Mom and Tina got along fabulously and the family could see improvements in mom”s speech.  Tina is professional and always explained to us in layman’s terms what was wrong and how she would address the problem.  Both mom and the family had homework so that the therapy felt ongoing and part of our daily routine rather than a conventional one off treatment.

Tina is empathetic and sympathetic; very personable and easy to build rapport with.  She engages with her clients and goes over and above at times.  She truly deserves this recognition’.

‘My mum, Jean, had a subarachnoid haemorrhage last Christmas which has left her severely disabled.  She had nine months in hospital before being allowed home with full time specialist care.

As a family we wanted to provide private physiotherapy at home for Jean to help improve her quality of life.  We were lucky enough to find Tina, who is Jean’s speech therapist.  Tina burst into our lives, a bundle of energy, enthusiasm and positivity.

She has taught Jean some rudimentary sign language, adapted from Makaton in order to help her communicate and continues to be encouraging and optimistic about the future.

She gives us all hope, which is priceless’

‘Tina has been really supportive and caring in my sessions that I’ve had with her. I’m glad I chose Tina as I’ve grown and learnt a lot from her.

The techniques she uses are really helpful and I’ve implemented them when I feel anxious or nervous making my stutter worse.

I would highly recommend Tina to anyone who has speech disorders as she understands your needs and advises you very well’

I am an OT and was lucky to work with Tina on the Acute Stroke Unit at Kington Hospital for 3 years.

During this time we treated numerous patients together particularly those presenting cognitive/communication deficits. She was an outstanding Speech Therapist always professional, creative and patient, looking at every aspect of a patient’s life, helping them to return to functional independence.

She has a flexible approach, which helped her reach treatment goals with even the most complex patients. I would love to work with her again and would have no hesitation in recommending her service”
